The Sacrament of Baptism is often called “The Door of the Church,” because it is the first of the seven sacraments not only in time but in priority, since the reception of the other sacraments depends on it. Once baptized, a person becomes a member of the Church.
Infant Baptisms are celebrated on the third Sunday of the month in English and fourth Sunday of the month in Spanish at 1:30 p.m. except during Lent, when baptisms are not celebrated except in certain circumstances. Parents of the infant must attend a baptism preparation session held on the third Saturday of the month for English and fourth Saturday for Spanish both at 3:30pm prior to the scheduled baptism unless parties have been notified in advance.
Godparents are also required to attend the baptismal preparation session. If godparents live outside the parish boundary, they have the option to attend the preparation session at their own parish and provide written confirmation from the parish that they attended a preparation session.
A Baptismal Information Form must be filled out and submitted to the parish office. Please remember that baptisms are not celebrated during Lent.
